Help our Christmas appeal

Shrewsbury Chronicle readers will bring a big smile to the faces of children at Hope House Hospice with our Christmas toy appeal.

The furniture retailer, Alan Ward, and the Chronicle are launching the festive appeal to collect toys for the young people who attend the hospice near Oswestry.

The hospice would love donations of CDs, DVDs, board games and computer games for consoles which will particularly appeal to older children.

Cash donations are also welcome – please make any cheques payable to Alan Ward.

Kathy Lesser, marketing manager for the store, said: “We very much hope that our customers and Chronicle readers will join us in helping Hope House this Christmas.” People can bring their gifts to the Chronicle offices in Castle Foregate, Shrewsbury, or to the Alan Ward store in Ennerdale Road, Shrewsbury, before Monday, December 17, when we will arrange for all the gifts to be taken to Hope House.

The appeal was started off with a donation of £150 from Alan Ward for a games console and a signed children’s book. Each week we will be running a roll of honour naming all those who have supported our appeal.
