The Shrewsbury Chronicle has hit the headlines after being nominated for a national award again.
The paper has made a six-strong shortlist for the Weekly Newspaper of the Year (under 20,000 circulation) category at the 2008 Regional Press Awards, with the winners set to be announced at a ceremony at London’s Lancaster Hotel on Friday, June 13.
Last year the award was won by sister paper the North Shropshire Chronicle with the Shrewsbury Chronicle runners-up.
Peter Sands, chairman of the RPA judges, said entries had doubled from last year and described the standard of entries as ‘extremely high’.
