Inn on Green, Radbrook

A mother and daughter team run a friendly town pub to cater for anyone of any age and taste.

Andrea Carswell and her daughter Gemma have run the Inn on the Green at Radbrook for more than three years, and boast a large food menu and wide range of drinks.

Buffets can be provided for parties, and there is a function room which can be hired out for special occasions, including christenings, funerals and birthday parties.

The Inn’s menu has food to suit any palate, including chicken and plaice meals, lasagnes, burgers, chilli, paninis and more.

“Our menu has bar meals to suit everyone, and our clientele ranges from ages 18 to 90,” says Andrea.

The drinks menu is also varied, with traditional ales, lagers, Guinness, ciders, and Stowells wine on draught. From Mondays to Wednesdays the Inn has a specials board, where customers can buy two meals for £5.50, and on Sundays the pub offers Sunday lunch, which must be booked in advance. Meals are served from 12pm to 2pm.

The Inn has a large car park and is family friendly, and also has disabled access throughout.

During the football season, the pub also hires a bus to take fans of Shrewsbury Town FC to home games at the Prostar Stadium.

Andrea says: “We also have quiz nights every first Thursday of the month. We are a community pub and try to cater to what our customers want. We are a general ‘all-rounder’ pub really.”

The Inn on the Green’s next entertainment night will be on Friday, August 29, when The Diamond Geezer, a Neil Diamond tribute act, is to perform.
