A family-run village pub offers a wide range of food and drink at lunch times and in evenings to suit palates of all tastes and sizes.
The Wingfield Arms at Montford Bridge serves lunch six days a week from 12 noon until 2pm, and a light-bites menu is also available on Tuesdays for those with a smaller appetite.
During the rest of the week, a full menu is run alongside the light-bites, where customers can feast on meals such as fish, salmon, lasagne, paninis and more.
The evening menu runs from 6pm until 9pm and there are steak dishes as well as meals for vegetarians. The desserts menu includes home-made puddings such as apple crumble, cheese cakes, Rocky Road puddings, ice cream sundaes and cakes.
A ‘sizzlers bistro’ is also available with beef, prawn and chicken meals, as well as a Sunday carvery. This includes cuts of turkey, beef and ham with new and roast potatoes plus a selection of vegetables, all local produce.
The drinks menu has a selection of two cask ales, draught Magners cider, a choice of three red wines, two white wines and two rosé wines.
All meals are cooked fresh where possible by head chef Claire Wise and meals are made with non processed food.
Julie Parker, one of the pub’s business partners, said: “We are very much a family pub.
“We always go for quality with our food, and we never buy cheap stuff because if you buy cheap, you get cheap meals.”
Wingfield Arms has a play area outside for children and has disabled access, and it also caters for coach parties, weddings, christenings, wakes and birthdays.
The pub owns fishing rights to three quarters of a mile of the River Severn.
