Bosses at a popular town centre pub/restaurant have pledged to continue their policy of providing good quality food from local producers.
The Coach and Horses on Cross Hill offers a range of meals for diners, with the restaurant open for lunch and an evening carvery and specialist nights held during the week.
But in keeping with the idea of combining the best features of a pub and restaurant, monthly quiz nights and weekly live music sessions are also held.
Lunch is available from Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 2.30pm, while the carvery is served from 6.30pm to 9.30pm and booking is recommended. Sunday lunch is on offer from 12 noon to 4.30pm, with three roasts and a choice of seven vegetables and potatoes available for diners.
Every Thursday night is fish night, with the menu changing every week. Recent offerings include razor clams, grilled sardines, red bream fillet and cajun-spiced swordfish steak, with a variety of meals to suit all tastes.
Staff are also running a special offer where if groups order four main courses they get a bottle of house wine for free.
Dean Morris, manager and head chef at the Coach and Horses, said: “We are trying to incorporate local produce in our meals – where possible we are using local producers at the market for our ingredients. It’s all good quality and goes towards producing excellent meals. The menu for our fish night changes depending on what comes in off the boat and it’s proving popular.”
On October 2 the restaurant will host a cocktail and sushi night, with booking advised. As well as enjoying their meal, diners can also enjoy a quiz on the second Monday of each month. Live music is on every Sunday night, featuring local bands.
Mr Morris said: “We have retained the ethos of being a pub while serving good quality food in our restaurant. As well as live music and quizzes we also have free Wi-fi access too.”
Christmas meals have been released and can be seen on the venue’s website. For more details visit www.odleyinns.co.uk
