Councillors have vowed to keep working with youths – despite not one attending a special meeting set up to hear their views.
Councillors from Belle Vue, Sutton and Column arranged the event for teenagers to air their views about the area and the coming unitary council.
The event at Barnabas Community Centre, Longden Coleham, was advertised through youth groups, Shropshire Youth Association, and the youth forum – but no one turned up.
Youth workers and councillors John Tandy, Liz Parsons, Mansel Williams and Alan Townsend were all on the panel for the evening last Monday, September 29.
There was no agenda for the meeting as panel members hoped that it would be audience led and they had also arranged some ice-breaking games.
But councillors say they have not been discouraged by the lack of attendance and now plan to go out into the schools and youth clubs in the next few weeks to give youngsters their say.
