On-song Shrewsbury will look to take their league form into cup action when they make Saturday’s tricky trip to Pershore in the second round of rugby’s EDF Energy Vase.
The Sundorne Castle club make the journey in good spirits having reeled off their fourth straight win in Midlands Four West (North) with last weekend’s 21-0 victory at Bishop’s Castle.
However, their form will be put to the test tomorrow against Worcestershire side Pershore who, playing in Midlands Four West (SW), enjoyed a fine win over Bournville in the last round.
“It’s a tough game but we’ve won all four league games so far and can go there with plenty of confidence,” said spokesman Mattie Morris.
“We’ve not done that well in the cup in the past, so it would be nice to have a good run this time. But they had a good win in the last round, and it will be a test on their own ground.”
Shrewsbury are without injured forwards, second row Steve Owen and No 8 James Plant.
