Shrewsbury schoolgirl in tv programme

A Shrewsbury schoolgirl will star in a TV programme which was filmed in The Quarry.

Abbey Sorrell, who attends Holy Cross CE Junior School and is in year 6, got to feature in Ed and Oucho’s Excellent Inventions which will be broadcast on Monday at 4.30pm on CBBC after she sent in an idea for a wacky invention.

Programme creators liked her idea for a bicycle that makes ice cream so much that they came to Shrewsbury to film Abbey and her invention back in November.

The Icecoolator was filmed in the Quarry and also at Hawkstone Park Follies.

A spokesperson for CBBC said: “Abbey was a fantastic kid and we had a great time filming in Shrewsbury.”
