This week sees the launch of a new-look Chronicle, bringing a fresher and more modern perspective on what’s happening in Shrewsbury and surrounding villages.
Combining the best of the old with brightest of the new, the award-winning Chronicle’s team of reporters will bring you all the latest on events in your area, in an updated format for the 21st century.
We aim to reinforce our ties with communities, bringing a round-up of news from town and villages. Our unrivalled sports pages will remain packed with all the latest action, and there will be dedicated pages for the arts, motoring and business.
And the best news is, readers in Shrewsbury town will not have to pay a penny as the Chronicle will be delivered free to more than 30,000 homes. Readers in outlying villages will see the price of the Shrewsbury Chronicle and North Shropshire Chronicle reduced to 40p – but without cutting the amount of news on your local community.
Shropshire Newspapers managing director, Colin Spicer, said: “The Chronicle has been the heart and soul of Shrewsbury since it was first published in 1772 and this move will help it cement that position for many more years to come.”
