Staff at upmarket town centre restaurant Morgans at the Exchange have put their successful first six months down to catering for a whole host of customers.
Visitors to the restaurant on Bellstone are able to have meals from 8am when breakfast is served until 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and 9pm Sunday. And the open plan layout of the venue means people in the same room can be enjoying a meal or a quick drink at the bar.
A new menu has just been launched at Morgans, featuring dishes from tapas and sandwiches through to chargrilled steaks. A specials menu is updated every day to offer more choice to customers, and all food is prepared freshly on the premises.
It is also hoped that people will soon be able to dine outside if an application to put chairs and tables outside is approved.
The restaurant opened in November replacing the former Exchange pub. It marked a major shift in focus for the venue, but owner Quintin Morgan said the first six months had been a success.
He said: “All the food is prepared fresh in our kitchen – at weekends that may mean it takes a bit more time but it’s all fresh and good quality food.
“There are not many quality affordable places to go to eat in town. But things have gone well since we opened and we have been well supported.
“We offer something different as you can come here for a beer, a bottle of wine or a meal at any time of the day.”
