Eagle-eyed fans who clicked onto the internet to view an interactive map found themselves at a loss when it came to pinpointing the home of Shrewsbury Town FC.
The Prostar stadium failed to appear on a birds-eye view of Shrewsbury on Google Earth, despite the stadium being built two-years ago.
Instead, in its place lay an empty field, and to add insult to injury, the recently constructed Theatre Severn was labelled as being at Victoria Quay on the wrong side of the English Bridge.
The Chronicle contacted Google to inform them of the errors and since then markers have appeared to highlight the buildings’ correct positions.
A spokeswoman for Google said their mapping system was reliant on satellite imagery being provided from elsewhere, which means some of their images can be a couple of years old.
