Lea Cross Tavern’s beer garden
Chris and Sharon Livesey took over the pub four weeks ago, and they are hoping to build on the existing food trade.
The managers are also enthusiastic about how they source their food, with all their meat, fish and vegetables coming from the local area. Freshness is also top of the menu, and Sharon is proud that nothing on the Sunday lunch plate comes from frozen. “It’s all fresh produce, freshly cooked,”she says. Since their arrival, the couple’s have added a Friday fish night, a Wednesday steak night, and are offering a two or three course lunch menu, for £5.95 and £6.95 respectively, on Monday to Thursday between 12pm and 2.30pm. They have also extended their Sunday serving time so that lunch is now available from 12pm until 8pm.On top of the main menu there is also a specials board which boasts ten different mains, and a range of puddings, many of which are home-made.
Opening times for food are between 12pm and 2.30pm, and 5pm and 9pm Monday to Friday, 12pm to 9pm on Saturdays, and 12pm to 8pm on Sundays.
Its not just food, however, as Chris and Sharon also serve plenty of cask ales and lagers. The Lea Cross Tavern has a big car park and a beer garden, perfect for the summer months.
